Audio
I am something of an audio nut. I enjoy learning new equipment and working with equipment I have to do things like helping musician friends get their music recorded.
I enjoy learning about mixing theory, something I do both for recordings and for live sound. I study different methods for equalizing and learning what different sorts of gear do to the sounds. Personally, I believe strongly in reductive equalization, if anyone was curious where I stand on that.
Despite being three years removed, I am still asked yearly to go back to my home school district to run sound at graduation. I was able to take part before I left high school in helping create a now booming A/V curriculum for students.
Music
Unfortunately, I don't play as much as I did in high school, but I am a reasonably well-rounded musician. I'm not amazing at any one thing, but I'm decent at a number of things. I'm a classically trained pianist starting at around age three. Though, if I'm being honest, I've forgotten a lot of that skill. Then, somewhere in there, I got a drumset, learned that, and also taught myself guitar somewhere along the way. when band rolled around in sixth grade, I started out on the tenor trombone and ultimately switched to bass trombone for the entirety of high school.
